Ela is a girl born to progressive parents in India. She describes the inner conflicts she feels as a girl with higher education about to be arranged to marry. She eventually does agree to marry someone who is in America to keep her parents happy and in this book, she takes us on the journey of her immigration, culture shock, and becoming a mother.
